KDW Concrete Bookmarks: Polished

Woke up early on this Sabbath to get these ‘marks polished and ready for sealing. I started with a heavy grit polish pad and made way to a smooth finish while exposing the aggregate along the way. Next stop for these two is the sealing station and then off to their patient owners!

BELOW: Polished.

KDW Concrete Bookmarks: Formed, poured, & cracked.

Got the first orders for my concrete bookmarks not too long after this years Cheaper Show. Its a great feeling being able to share my craft with others that appreciate it and for that I am very grateful.

For these ‘marks, I laid out the design plan and cut the pieces a couple of weeks ago and poured the concrete last week. After a full week of curing in the forms I finally got them cracked today and hope to finish the polishing and sealing stages this week. The larger one is big enough to house magazine sized prints and the smaller one is for novels.
